Culture vs War with ANTYTILA

We would like to invite you to the «Culture vs War» – Charity event with the ANTYTILA band at the Forum Birmingham.

The Ukrainian band ANTYTILA are coming back to Britain. The story of stadium musicians who put down their instruments to defend their country as Medics continues in a night of film and song. You may remember them from the BBC documentary Frontline Frontmen or from Ed Sheerans song 2Step or his concert in Poland. Perhaps you know them from their performance with Bono and the Edge in London.

As part of the «Culture vs War» project, the ANTYTILA band, together with the Ukrainian community in Great Britain, on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Association «Watch Ukrainian», supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will hold the first series of events in three cities in the UK.

Each event includes:

1. Showing a documentary «Culture vs War: Antytila» telling about the war from the ANTYTILA band members’ perspective.

2. A sincere talk with the musicians in a Q&A format about a heroic struggle of Ukrainian people against Russian occupants, charitable projects, musical activities, and military service of the ANTYTILA band.

3. An auction with unique lots including flags signed by Valerii Zaluzhnyi and Kyrylo Budanov as well as trophies and personal items of the musicians having gone through combat actions in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, where Taras Topolia, Serhii Vusyk, and Dmytro Zholud took part as volunteer soldiers of the 130th Battalion of Territorial Defense.

4. An acoustic performance by the ANTYTILA band with songs having become part of the Ukrainians’ lives all around the world.

Admission: registration + donation to support the Defense forces of Ukraine.

All funds from donations and lots will be transferred for purchasing boats for medical evacuation.

Doors open: 6 p.m.

The event begins: 7 p.m.

The meeting will last up to 3 hours.
