Colleagues at Spire Parkway Hospital have raised over £9,505.50 during Spire Healthcare’s 2024 Summer charity drive – all in aid of supporting Cancer Research UK.
During the multi-day event, colleagues across the business, including at Spire Healthcare’s 39 hospitals in England, Wales and Scotland undertook a wide variety of activities, including walking, cycling and running to raise money. At Spire Parkway Hospital, colleagues took part in the Race for Life’s Pretty Muddy run, a five-kilometre obstacle course.
Emily Montgomery, Hospital Director at Spire Parkway Hospital, said: “We set a fundraising target of £4,000, so we are astounded that the total amount raised is more than double that. We had so much fun taking part in the Race for Life’s Pretty Muddy run and are amazed at the generosity of everyone who donated. Our hospital community is proud to support a charity which is so close to all our hearts.”
Justin Ash, CEO of Spire Healthcare, said: “I’d like to thank Spire colleagues, and consultants for taking part in our 2024 Summer Charity Drive. It’s inspiring to see so many people giving of their time to raise funds for such a wide range of excellent causes. In addition to working every day to make a positive difference to people’s lives through outstanding personalised care, we at Spire Healthcare also believe in giving back to our local communities, and making a positive contribution to society wherever we can. I am therefore incredibly proud of everyone’s support and efforts to make this year’s fundraising period so successful.”
