IAE actively recruiting as £15m expansion progresses

A growing manufacturing firm has started recruiting 50 new staff as work on a £15 million expansion project nears completion.

IAE revealed earlier this year that it is looking to create dozens of new jobs as part of plans to build a new factory, visitor centre and powder coating plant at its Stoke-on-Ternt headquarters.

Over the last six months, major progress has been made at the Mossfield Road site with construction of the 103,000 sq ft production facility and visitor centre – which will span 50,000 sq ft – well underway.

Now the company is looking to accelerate its recruitment drive for more than 50 additional employees.

Alex Venables, IAE’s associate operations director, said: “The first pile went into the ground in May and a lot of progress has been made since then.

“Completion is still on track for the end of the year and we hope to be operating from the new buildings by April next year.

“Our recruitment process has already started but now we are ready to accelerate it – and we have some positions available for immediate start.”

The job roles up for grabs at IAE include MIG welders, forklift truck drivers, machine operatives and assembly operatives.

Some of the positions will require staff to work across three shift patterns, predominantly 6am to 2pm, 10am to 6pm and 2pm to 10pm.

Alex added: “The employees at IAE are our biggest asset and it is extremely important to us that each employee feels valued whilst working here, so we have recently reviewed – and enhanced – our employee benefits package.

“This includes a 10 per cent increase in basic pay for our hourly-paid staff, enhanced company pension contributions and additional holiday allowance. We also have a flexible working policy for office-based staff.”

Managing director Frank Klucznik – whose grandfather set up the company more than 50 years ago – said: “We know we are not the only ones recruiting at the moment, so it has been a challenge but we are pleased to be giving people the opportunity to join an independently-owned, family-run business.

“We are committed to developing and retaining our staff and we hope that our investment in our new facilities shows that we are confident about the future our business.”

IAE is the UK’s leading manufacturer of livestock handling equipment, equestrian stabling, steel fencing and shelters.

The new factory – which will be known as ‘Production 4’ – will mainly be used by the company to manufacture its own bespoke range of products.

It will also see IAE’s 450-strong workforce brought together at Adderley Green as 40 staff are transferred from its sister site in Cheadle.

Frank added: “This project has been in the pipeline since about 2015, so it’s really exciting to see it finally coming together.”
