Fit-out work has started on a Birmingham office building undergoing a major refurbishment programme worth £38.8 million.
Willmott Dixon Interiors is leading the project at 10 Brindleyplace after the contractor stripped the block back to a concrete shell and made a series of alterations to its structure prior to fit-out work commencing.
The redevelopment will combine buildings 8 and 10 Brindleyplace into one to create a single floor by floor open office space of 212,000 sq ft over twelve floors, delivering one of the city’s largest available floorplates at over 27,000 sq ft.
Willmott Dixon Interiors will deliver a full mechanical and electrical replacement, including a new sprinkler system and an all-electric heating and cooling system, and smart building technologies will be installed.
Amenities will include new fitness facilities, with a studio and bouldering wall, cycle storage for 100 bicycles, electric vehicle charging, two communal landscaped roof terraces and 12 new lifts.

It is claimed to be the first building in Birmingham to receive Fitwel accreditation which measures occupants’ health and wellbeing.

The company is delivering the refurbishment on behalf of CBRE Global Investors, with Willmott Dixon Construction providing specialist structural elements.
Work is expected to complete during the summer.
